DEPARTMENT OF GENERAM AND SPECIAL (MUSIC) THEORY
VEDOUCÍ ODDĚLENÍ
MgA. Jaroslav Pelikán
The Department of General Theory provides students of the International Prague Conservatory with quality education in the field of compulsory secondary school subjects, such as Czech language, foreign language, history, civics, informatics etc., some of which are part of the final school-leaving examination. Graduation years are therefore intensively prepared for exams, which then largely pass successfully.
Oddělení
The Department of Professional Theory, consisting of qualified teachers, teaches professional theory to all full-time students within a six-year study. Although teaching is in the form of group lectures and exercises, we also apply an individual approach to each student. The teaching part is regularly supplemented by excursions and exhibitions. Teachers prepare students for graduation exams and graduation exams, and take part in preparatory courses in music theory necessary for the successful performance of talent examinations.
At the Prague International Conservatory we do not perceive music theory as dry lessons and disagreeable rules. Together we find connections and patterns of musical speech and the environment in which it is spoken.
We try to show that even the gray theory can bloom green leaves of knowledge…
